FLAGSHIP.BERLIN · Paul-Löbe-Haus pier, Reichstag
The HEMINGWAY is a wood-panelled saloon boat built in 1908 and switched to electric drive in winter 2024/25, and it runs a one-hour loop from the pier beside the Reichstag. Pick it for the boat itself: table service, no engine noise and up to 70 guests instead of a few hundred.

FLAGSHIP.BERLIN runs several electric boats on the Spree, and the HEMINGWAY is the old lady of the group. Built in 1908, it has an open foredeck, a covered aft deck and an enclosed saloon with wood panelling and big windows. In winter 2024/25 it was converted to fully electric drive, so there's no diesel smell and no vibration under your feet. It takes up to 70 guests, which is small by Berlin standards, and uniformed crew bring drinks and snacks to your table.
The loop starts at the Paul-Löbe-Haus landing stage, about 150 m along the river from the Reichstag, and heads east through the government quarter, past the Tränenpalast, Museum Island and Berlin Cathedral, before turning for home. The commentary is an audio track in German and English on the outbound leg only. On the way back it's lounge music. That's roughly half an hour of information, so if you want history the whole way, the Hadynski cruise has a live guide for the full hour.
The boat is not barrier-free: there's one step at the jetty and no wheelchair access. FLAGSHIP.BERLIN sells the trip directly from 25 euros, and berlin.de lists a child fare for ages 2 to 14. Like every one-hour loop, it stays in Mitte and doesn't reach the East Side Gallery.
Walk from the Reichstag down to the Spree and turn left. The Paul-Löbe-Haus landing stage is about 150 m along the water, marked with FLAGSHIP.BERLIN flags. U5 Bundestag and bus 100 stop nearby.
Open foredeck for photos, the covered aft deck for shade, or the wood-panelled saloon if it's cold.
Audio commentary in German and English past the Bundestag buildings, the Tränenpalast, the Cathedral and Museum Island.
The commentary stops and the music starts. Order from the crew at your table.
You step off where you began, a few minutes from the Brandenburg Gate.
